The Bassan Farm
is located in the municipality of Pompeiana, a town on the west coast at 200 m above sea level, just 8 km from Sanremo.
The olive
In total, the olive groves reach an area of 5 hectares with about 1250 Taggiasca cultivar plants; some are located in the enchanting "Costa Panera" region from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the sea and where also stands the ancient Torre dei Panei, built in the 16th century as a defense against raids by Saracen pirates.
Other olive
Other olive groves extend in the region "Le Chiuse" to a greater height, of around 350 m slm, inside an area of particular naturalistic value (the SIC: site of community importance), where it runs the Liguria path, that starts from Ventimiglia and goes as far as Luni, where rare animals live like the "ocellata" lizard and the "dotted pelodite" frog.
Surroundings
Above these olive groves the "beodo delle Chiuse" dating back to the 16th century runs for a few kilometers: it is a small canal that carried and still carries water in the countryside of the area.
In addition to oil
pickled olives and olive pâté, the Bassan family also packs fresh fruit and tomato purée; all handmade products made using the raw materials grown in their land.
No chemicals
The Bassan Farm has chosen to minimize the use of chemicals in its own olive groves in order to protect the environment and the health of consumers.
Our Commitment
The company has also been engaged for some years in the recovery of uncultivated countryside and restoration of dry stone walls.
Recovery of uncultivated countryside
These interventions were partly financed by the European Union through accession to the PSR (rural development plan).
